Should be a lot of fun with great prizes and an authentic vegetarian or meat curry to round of the evening....yum!
As of the 30th March 2009 Darren Littlewood & Alan Thomas will be the new landlords of The Ring O’ Bells in Priston. Alan has worked as head chef in 5 star hotels and Darren in award winning pubs.
Being chefs food features right up there in our plans for the pub and the kitchen will be open seven days a week, everything from bread to chutney to the mayonnaise in your tartare sauce will be made on the premises, our fish will be supplied by Cornish day boats, our meat from local award winning butchers and our veg from local growers. We have no desire to turn the pub into a fancy restaurant with inflated prices and snooty service, this is going to be good value pub food.
Of course real ales will still feature strongly and we will be using local breweries for monthly guest ales, we are also increasing the wine list and adding some premium spirits, bottled beers and organic cider. The rooms above the pub will now be available for bed and breakfast, we have 3 luxury double rooms and you get your own personal chef to cook breakfast. Once a month we will host a quiz & curry night at the pub with a share of the proceeds going to good causes in the village.
We are really keen to hear your opinions too and would love to find some local village suppliers for our kitchen, we have set a blog up so you can leave your comments or you can email us at, info@sousrecruitment.com, or just drop in for a chat!

News
Well one week in and it has been great. The support from the locals has exceeded all expectations and right now it feels like the best pub in the world!
Food update: We're now getting lots of exciting local products into the kitchen including:
English lop Pork from Timsbury, free range chicken and duck eggs from the village, the most amazing local venison and excellent beef from Walter Rose and Hugh.
May day at the pub is going to feature a special outside bar sponsored hopefully by Bath Ales, more news on that soon.
We have also got plans for lots of good stuff for all the locals who have shown such an interest in the continued success of the pub, thanks from us both!

Children
We welcome children but don't believe they should have a 'children's' menu, these usually have horrible frozen foods worse than you'd give them at home!
Instead they can pick from the same menu and have a children's size portion.
For Sunday lunches if you want to bring the whole family we will be doing whole roasts to share, so if your children aren't big eaters then you will be able to have a whole roast free range chicken and share it between 2, 3 or 4, it's upto you....

Local Breweries
We believe strongly that if you can get excellent products on your doorstep then you should use them in your pub. Somerset, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire have some of the best micro breweries in the country and we are planning to use guest ales from the best of these.
Breweries signed up so far include: Blindmans in Frome and Stroud brewery which has just won awards for its organic real ales. If you have any suggestions let us know.
Here's a list of the real ales we would like to serve, of course this is a contentious issue so here's your chance to have your say...
Wadworths 'I.P.A'
Abbey Ales 'Bellringer'
Blindmans 'Buff'
Stroud Brewery 'Budding'
and cider:
Stowford press
Westons organic
Richs organic scrumpy
as for lagers:
Amstel
Staropramen
Budvar
Heineken
Becks Vier
